Position Summary
Elder Abuse Litigation Attorney to handle a caseload of Elder Abuse cases at our law firm. The attorney will handle litigation involving nursing homes.
Requirements
- Required minimum 5 years of Elder Abuse litigation expereince
- Experience with discovery, depositions, mediation, and courtroom proceedings
- CA State Bar License
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Compassionate and professional demeanor when working with elderly clients and families
- Proficiency in legal research and case management software
- Represent clients in elder abuse and neglect cases from intake through resolution.
- Conduct legal research, investigations, and case evaluations.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, settlement demands, and other legal documents.
- Manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively
- Take and defend depositions, attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
- Work with medical experts, investigators, and social service professionals to build cases.
- Advise clients and families regarding legal rights, remedies, and case strategy.
- Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers, defense counsel, and opposing parties.
- Maintain accurate case files and comply with all court deadlines.
- Stay informed on changes in elder law, healthcare regulations, and abuse prevention laws.
- Collaborate with support staff and contribute to client-centered legal services.
- Salary ($200,000 or more) plus commissions from settlements.
